Festival of Hope
One of our earliest projects, in 2012, was the Prison Jersey Project, known as the Festival of Hope. We partnered with Miracle Missions, local choreographers, musicians & dancers, to take dance and music to Harare Central Prison. We worked with 100 prisoners for more than two months, teaching and rehearsing with them and giving them a hot meal every day. This culminated in a heart-warming performance during Prison Commemoration Day at Glamis Stadium.
The group also performed for everyone – prisoners, guards and staff – at Harare Central Prison.
Then at a black-tie event held at The Meikles hotel, guests were entertained by the ‘creators’ of this spectacular show to raise funds to buy yarn and knit jerseys for every prisoner in Central Prison.
