Green Close Recycling Project

When the Meikles group purchased a property in Borrowdale for the expansion of its TM/Pick n Pay supermarket, a complex of eight houses had to be demolished to make way for the hyper store.
The Foundation organised local entrepreneurs from Hatcliffe Extension to demolish the houses and as an income generating project, sell the recovered materials. The resulting funds were used to help several charities in Hatcliffe Extension. Such was the success of the project that every last brick, door frame and roof tile was recycled.
